The reporter learned from the Research Institute of New Energy and Materials Chemistry of the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology of Tsinghua University that the industrial production of fuel cell key material catalysts has been overcome by the joint research and development team of Tsinghua University's hydrogen fuel cell laboratory and a Wuhan technology company. At present, the catalyst has 17 patents, the production capacity is 1200 grams per day, and the price is only half of the imported products.
Catalyst as the core material of fuel cell, its comprehensive performance and localization are directly related to the core competitiveness of China's fuel cell technology and its industrialization prospects. However, the relevant intellectual property rights have always been in the hands of a few developed countries in the West. The high cost of the catalyst core materials relying on imports for a long time has restricted the independent development of China's hydrogen energy industry.
In 2015, Tsinghua University and Wuhan Himalaya Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. carried out in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises, and jointly used the catalyst preparation process of Tsinghua University to carry out mass production technology research on Pt/C catalysts. At present, the catalyst capacity reaches 1200 g / day, can meet the needs of 40 36kW fuel cell stacks, and has large-scale industrial production conditions. The results of this series completely broke the long-term monopoly of the technology in a few countries, and the price is only half of the similar imported products.
Catalyst series products have been used in fuel cell stacks of Chinese Academy of Sciences, universities and many fuel cell companies. At the end of this year, the hydrogen fuel cell produced by the catalyst can reach 1,000 units.
Wang Cheng, director of the research team of hydrogen fuel cells at Tsinghua University, said that the next step will continue to improve the catalyst's indicators and improve the tolerance to sulfides, nitrides and other impurities. Inject a lot of power.
