Germany's 66.6% New Residential Renewable Energy

According to data released by the German Federal Statistical Office, 66.6% of new homes in Germany in 2018 achieved heating using renewable energy. The data shows that Germany built 107,200 new homes last year, of which 47.2% used renewable energy as its main source of energy supply.

Statistics from the Federal Statistical Office show that Germany’s use of renewable energy in residential homes surpassed natural gas for the first time last year, ranking first. The proportion of natural gas used dropped from 47.4% in 2017 to 43% last year, and other conventional energy use ratios were 9.8%.
